Funeral for Mary E. Douglas, 83, of Hartselle was Tuesday, May 6, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bobby Ray Halbrooks and Paul Summerford officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Douglas died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Randolph County, to Oris Warrer Eiland and Minnie Lee Bailey Eiland. She was a member of Hartselle First United Methodist Church, a Worthy Matron of the Hartselle Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther H. Douglas and a brother, Curtis Albert “Buck” Eiland Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Richard W. Douglas of Arley and Perry F. Douglas of Olive Branch, Miss; a sister, Cora Lee Clark of Alabama; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Charles Clark, Jimmy Clark, Albert Eiland, Pete Douglas, Russell Sikes and Darrell Kirby.
