Ausley Bend auction rescheduled
By Staff
Buyers wanting a piece of the Ausley Bend Subdivision will have to wait a little longer.
A May 10 auction at the site was postponed until June 7. The auction will start at 10 a.m. at 100 Katie Circle in Hartselle. Previews and inspections are available May 31 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
On the auction block will be 40 subdivision lots, three houses, a residential lot with frontage on Ausley Bend Road and four tracts of land with between 6.63 acres and 44.1 acres.
The auction will be conducted by AmeriSouth Auctions.
The initial plan for Ausley Bend called for the creation of an old-fashioned neighborhood, complete with some 143 homes built in three phases, a community center/town hall, parks and commercial areas. Homes began in the $175,000 range.
However, unless someone purchases the property as a whole and opts to continue the development, the second and third phases won’t happen.
Bidding is open to the public but bidders must register. A winning buyer must also provide a 20 percent down payment at the conclusion of the sale and closing must be within 30 days.
