Realtor now wants license commissioner post
Mark McCurry of Decatur has announced his candidacy for Morgan County Commissioner of Licenses. As his party’s nominee, he will face incumbent Sue Baker Roan, a Democrat, in the November General Election.
McCurry is a licensed real estate agent with 11 years of experience.
He is employed with Parker Real Estate in Decatur. For 10 of the 11 years he and his family have lived in Decatur he worked at the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, a long-term foster care facility.
McCurry is a member of Decatur Kiwanis Club and a former long-time member of he Morgan County Board of Realtors.
He is an active member of Southside Baptist Church where he serves on the Personnel Committee and sings in the Sanctuary Choir.
He and his wife April have two children, Hannah and Stone. Both are enrolled in the Decatur City School System.
