Tanksley, Knight to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Gregory L. Tanksley of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Meghan Lynn Tanksley, to Christopher Kyle Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky W. Knight of Thomasville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hampton of Hartselle, Mrs. Harlen J. Tanksley of Decatur and the late Harlen J. Tanksley. She received her bachelor’s degree in interior design from the University of Alabama in 2004.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh L. Parten of Thomasville and the late Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Knight of Thomasville. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a double major in advertising and political science.
The wedding is planned for June 28, 200, at West Hartselle Baptist Church.
Upton, Bloom to wed
George Olen Upton of Bay Springs, Miss. and Kimberly Demaris Upton of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Demaris Upton, to Justin Timothy Bloom, son of Paul and Bonnie Bloom of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Horace and the late Dixie Williams and Columbus Lee Cole, all of Hartselle.
She is a 2006 graduate of Hartselle High School and attends Calhoun Community College. She is majoring in elementary physical education and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She is also employed at Bethel Baptist Day Care.
The future groom is the grandson of Dr. Andy and Janice Bloom and Wanda Llewellyn and Mary Sue Jones, all of Ocala, Fla.
He attended Ocala Christian Academy in Ocala, Fla. and graduated from Hartselle High School in 2007. He is an airborne infantryman in the U. S. Army. Upon completion of military training, he will be stationed at Fort Bragg. N.C.
The wedding is planned for July 12, 2008, at Bethel Baptist Church in Hartselle.
