Funeral for Laura Copeland Mason, 74, of Decatur was Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cheston Carr officiating.
Burial was in New Center Cemetery. Mrs. Mason died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born May 28, 1934, in Morgan County to James Theodore Copeland and Mattie Pittman Copeland. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Ralph Mason Sr. of Decatur; two sons, James R. “Jim” Mason Jr. and wife Petra of Decatur and Kenneth D. “Ken” Mason and wife Annette of Hartselle; a brother, Rev. J.T. Copeland Jr.: a sister, Doris Rising of Buffalo, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Cory Mason and Kayla Mason, both of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Danny Copeland, David Malkmus, Steve Legg, Adam Schrimsher, Bobby Robbins and Jimmy Robbins.
