SNAP seeks signatures for grant

Organizers of SNAP, the special needs accessible playground in Hartselle, are asking residents to join in the campaign for a grant to help fund the project.
SNAP is applying for a $100,000 ADECA grant. A public hearing about the grant is scheduled for June 9 at 4 p.m. Residents are asked to go by City Hall at that time to sign the document and show support for the project.
SNAP is planned for construction in three phases. This grant, along with currentlydonated matching funds and pledged in-kind work, would permit the group to move forward with construction of phase two, a splashpad.
Phase 1, a swing area, was opened on May 18. Construction of Phase 3, the main playground, is contingent on future fundraising.
