Brown, Wood exchange vows
Kathryn Allen Brown of Hartselle and Jeremy Craig Wood of Hartselle were wed April 26, 2008, at the Old State Bank Courtyard. Rev. Paul Summerford officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Bobby and Melva Brown of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mike Wood of Hartselle and Carol Graham of Eva.
The bride was escorted by her father.
The church was decorated with mixed pink roses and white mums and ferns.
She wore a gown of ivory matte satin with a tulle ball gown skirt. The champagne bodice was accented with beading and pearls. She wore a matching tiara and a waist-length veil.
Dianna Brown of Hartselle was matron of honor. Michelle Woods of Hartselle was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Bvelna of San Clemente, Ca., Heather McCaghren of Hartselle and Brittany LouAllen of Moulton.
Bridesmaids wore strapless tea length deep pink dresses. They carried mixed pink roses and white mums.
Lakelen Crider of Auburn was flower girl.
The groom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Adam Brown of Hartselle, Steve Wood of Hartselle, Preston Grammer of Hartselle, Luke Crider of Auburn and Jody Wood of Hartselle.
Music was provided by Corey Loney.
A reception was held at Country Inn and Suites immediately after the ceremony.
The bride’s table featured a white cake with pink and green polka dots, decorated with fresh pink roses. Tables were decorated with pink roses, pink lilies and white mums.
The wedding was directed by Kaylyn Long and Renee McCaghren. Assisting with the reception were Jerry Simmons, Denise Burchell, Sherry Burchell and Rita Roberts.
After a honeymoon trip to Fort Morgan, the couple is residing in Hartselle.

Burrell, Mercieca wed
Jennifer Leigh Burrell of Decatur wed Alexander Charles Mercieca of Huntsville May 24, 2008, at The Wedding Chapel on the Mountain.
The bride is the daughter of Janet Burrell of Decatur abd Bob and Mary Stuart Burrell of Decatur. The groom is the son of Charles Mercieca of Huntsville and the late Sherry Mercieca.
Father David Michaels presided over the ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her father. The altar was decorated with an assortment of white flowers flanked on either side by candelabras and the unity candle.
The bride’s dress was from the Private Label bridal collection from The House of Brides. The gown was an A-line, ivory dress made of satin and chiffon. It featured beaded spaghetti straps, a v-neck and beaded bodice with an empire waist, sweep train, and lace-up back.
The bride’s flowers were an assortment of cream roses, white daisies, white lilies, eucalyptus, and other greenery.
In addition she carried a calla lily crocheted by her grandmother and calla lilies made from her mother’s wedding dress.
The bride’s mother served as her maid of honor. She wore a mint green two-piece chiffon dress with a chiffon jacket, all trimmed with silver beadwork. Her flowers were cream roses.
The groom’s father was best man. He also provided a reading from First Corinthians.
A reception was held at the Wedding Chapel on the Mountain Reception Hall, immediately following the ceremony.
The bride’s table featured a three-tiered white wedding cake with white icing, with swag and bows on all sides, and topped with roses made of icing and a hand-sculptured cake topper.
The groom’s table featured a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, with a basket weave pattern on all sides, and chocolate roses on top.
After a honeymoon trip to Malta, the couple will reside in Huntsville.
The night before the wedding, out-of-town guests and wedding party members were in attendance for a party at Cantina Laredo.
