Faith-based groups sought for program
By Staff
The Alabama Community Partnership for Recovery and Reentry, established by Governor Bob Riley to involve faith-based and community groups in helping ex-state prisoners successfully make the transition back to their communities, is holding regional meetings across the state during the month of July.
Morgan County’s meeting will be held July 9 at 10 a.m. at Beltline Church of Christ, located at 2159 Beltline Road SW in Decatur. Morgan County is included in the Colbert, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison and Marshall County district.
The purpose of these meetings is to raise awareness of the need to support reentry efforts, develop a framework for engaging local communities and collect information on available regional resources. Each meeting will be attended by state and local officials, ministers and members of community organizations.
