Funeral for John W. Powell, 54, of Hartselle was Friday, June 27, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jessie L. Wright officiating.
Burial was in Roundtop Cemetery.
Mr. Powell died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at his residence. He was born Jan. 18, 1954, in Michigan to L.V. Powell and Effie Mozell Johnson Powell. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was loved by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by a son, Christopher John Powell of Gadsden; a daughter, Amanda Landers of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Michael E. Powell of Hatton; six sisters, Sue Bendele of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Jane Turner of Arab and Wanda Ramsey, Gail Wright, Teresa Parker and Cynthia Tomlin, all of Hartselle; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lance Ferrell, Jerry Dale Summerford, Scott Wright, Jessie Wright, Timothy Lamb and Jimmy R. Self.
