Much ado about nothing

Hoopla surrounding the possibility of a German automaker locating in North Alabama turned out to be much ado about nothing.
Volkswagen officials announced yesterday they would locate a new assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tenn., ending months of speculation from state officials and industry insiders.
The Greenbrier community in LImestone County and a Michigan site were also in the running for the plant. Earlier this week, a German auto industry magazine said Volkswagen officials had selected Limestone County, leaving many in the state, including Gov. Bob Riley, surprised at the change of heart.
The Volkswagen plant is expected to create some 2,000 jobs.
