Funeral for Horace Lowe Freeman, 71, of Lacey’s Spring was Wed., July 23, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Chad Chamberlain and James T. Morrow officiating.
Burial was in Hough Cemetery.
Mr. Freeman died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Morgan County to William Claude Freeman and Pearlie K. Meeks Freeman. He was treasurer of TRCHA and was preceded in death by a stepson, Boris Shirley.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Freeman of Lacey’s Spring; four sons, Raymond Freeman and wife Sheree and Anthony Freeman, all of Lacey’s Spring, Timothy Freeman and wife Sharon and Eddie Freeman and wife Sherry, all of Valhermoso Springs; a stepson, Steven Shirley of Cullman; two stepdaughters, Donna Tatum of Hartselle and Angela Shirley of Scottsboro; three brothers, Hammond Freeman, Marvin Freeman and Buddy Freeman, all of Valhermoso Springs; a sister, Margie Filyaw of Cullman; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Tatum, Barry Tatum, Brandon Posey, Chris Posey, Jerry Bearden, Gilbert Melson and Eric Fields.
