Local men honored for bravery

Two Hartselle men were honored for their bravery in saving a man from his burning home.
Mark Brown and Dwight Conway were honored with a proclamation at Tuesday night’s council meeting. The two were honored for their role in a fire at the home of Danny Smith of 1910 Morningside Drive. City officials said Brown, who lives near Smith, saw flames the morning of July 9 and went inside Smith’s home. Conway, who was driving by, saw the flames and went to assist Brown. The two men pulled Smith from his burning home.
