Funeral for Raymond E. King, 85, of Falkville was Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Vest and Chaplain Mike Thomas officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. King died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 13, 1923, in Limestone County to Acie James King and Lula Mae King. He was retired from Bretford Manufacturing. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sons, Billy Wayne King, Raymond E. King Jr.and James Albert King.
He is survived by his wife, Merle Jean Cooper King of Falkville; a son, Jack Thompson of Somonauk, Ill.; two daughters, Ann Riner Gowens of Belfast, Tenn. and Sandra Thompson Allen of Falkville; a brothers, Cecil King of Shelbyville, Tenn.; four sisters, Elizabeth Flora of Stewart, Fla., Mary Romans of Greenwood, Ind., Bea Rubert of Columbia, Tenn., and Edna Norton of Bristol, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tony Maday, Jason Allen, Adam Maday, Aaron Maday, Brad Thompson and Tim Lingle.
Honorary pallbearers were Danny Riner and Randy Riner.
