Get quacking at the Ducky Derby
By Staff
The fun of the Ducky Derby is returning to Morgan County Sept. 13.
The Volunteer Center of Morgan County is hosting the eighth of a mile duck water race. Community members are asked to adopt a duck for $5. The “adopters” of the first 20 ducks that cross the finish line will have the chance to win one of the grand prizes. When you adopt a “Six Quack” you adopt five ducks and get a 6th one free and you will also receive a coupon by mail for a free medium one topping pizza from Pizza Hut.
Ducky Derby will begin at approximately 3 p.m. during the Decatur Jaycee’s RiverFest at Ingall’s Harbor. Ducky Derby gives a chance for clubs, organizations and all non-profit agencies to benefit by signing up to sell ducks and receive a percentage of the sales. To adopt a duck, pick up adoption forms before 2 p.m. at The Ducky Derby tent at Riverfest or prior to the event at the Volunteer Center at 708 6th Avenue, Jimmy Smith Jewelers or Decatur Mall.
