Funeral for Ruby Slaten Kelley, 84, of Decatur was Sunday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Randy Evers, James Henderson and Gary Dobbs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Kelley died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Decatur to Allen J. Henderson and Maude Orr Henderson. She was a retired nurse and a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Curtis W. Slaten and wife Sue Ann of Somerville; two daughters, Sue Dobbs and husband Gary of Somerville and Gail Terry and husband Douglas of Hillsboro; two stepdaughters, Brenda Fagan of Trinity and Judy Agner of Decatur; four grandchildren, Kimberly Dobbs, Alan Dobbs, Krystal Green and Lori Slaten; and two great-granddaughters, Kayla Dobbs and Lawson Dobbs.
Pallbearers were Alan Dobbs, Heath Green, James Henderson, Burl Slaten, Frank Slaten and Kenneth Slaten.
Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Taylor, Steve Taylor, Henry Thompson and Ellis Johns.
