Funeral for Harry C. Puckett, 81, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bobby Ray Halbrooks and Jeri Hunt officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Puckett died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 24, 1927, in Morgan County to Guin W. Puckett and Breatha Waugh Puckett. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a retired auctioneer, a past president of Hartselle Camp Meeting Association and a member of the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David Puckett and John Paul Puckett.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Anne Puckett of Hartselle; two sons, Donald Cain Puckett and wife Robin and Ronald Wayne Puckett and wife Sharon, both of Somerville; two daughters, Harriet Anne Austin and husband Stan of Somerville and Jean Elizabeth Sharp and husband Brad of Hartselle; two brothers, Dan Puckett and L.W. “Buddy” Puckett, both of Birmingham; 10 grandchildren, Dustin and Nick Puckett, Elizabeth, Bobby and Caleb Puckett, Robert Sharp, Bradley Sharp (U.S. Air Force), Shane Austin, Tara Holmes and Cain Austin (U.S. Army deployed to Iraq); and three great-grandchildren, Chris Sholar and Grant and Addison Holmes.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Puckett, Bradley Sharp, Robert Sharp, Shane Austin, Bobby Puckett, Nick Puckett and Chris Sholar.
