A celebration of life for A.W. Jones, 83, of Falkville was Sunday, Sept. 7, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with his grandsons, Enoch Jones, James Arthur Jones and Franklin Jones as speakers.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008. He was a retired barber and a welder with M&M Play Equipment and his small engine repair business. He loved hunting, fishing and having coffee with his buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Martha Jean Linderman Jones; three brothers, Edward Jones, Vernon Jones and Houston Jones; and four sisters, Agnes Smith, Maggie Linderman, Lucille Strickland and Adell Weaver.
He is survived by sons, Don Jones and wife Lucretia of Falkville, Ric Jones of Glendale, Calif. and their mother, Thelma Mattox; son, Mike Lawrimore and wife Christina of Eva; a daughter, Pat Gatlin and husband Larry of Falkville; two sisters, Ann Spivey and husband Ernie of Decatur and Corrine Hensley of Hartselle; two brothers, Adell Harvel and wife Willie of Danville and Cecil Linderman and wife Ann of Danville; two sisters-in-law, Myrtis Jones of Moulton and Dorothy Linderman of Danville; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers were Tyler Gatlin, Whitt Copeland, Benson Jones, Chris Puckett, Sawyer McLemore, Shane McLemore and Joe Long.
