A graveside service for Sherrill Alan Dunlap, 64, of Falkville was Sunday, Sept. 7, at 3 p.m. at Key Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Dunlap died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Morgan County to Buster Dunlap and Lorene Stinson Dunlap. He was a steel worker and a U.S. Army veteran. He served two tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for service above and beyond the call of duty.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Roper Dunlap of Falkville; two sons, Derik Alan Dunlap of Cummings, Ga. and David Alan Dunlap of Atlanta, Ga.; a stepson, Jason Bigham of Savannah, Ga.; his mother, Lorene Dunlap of Falkville; a brother, Mack L. Dunlap of Falkville; three sisters, Rachel Dunlap of Falkville, Rebecca Dunlap Cornelius and husband Miles of Birmingham and Margaret Dunlap of Decatur; a grandson, Scott Dunlap; three stepgrandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Curtis Pace and wife Marie and Larry Pace; and a nephew, C.J. Pace.
