Hartselle Fire and Rescue gets grant
By Staff
Hartselle Fire and Rescue Department will receive $413,424 in federal grant funding to ensure that adequate staff is available to provide critical first response capabilities for the area’s emergency calls.
The funding was made available through SAFER, a Department of Homeland Security program that helps local fire departments attain and maintain 24-hour staffing and ensures that communities have adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards.
The department has developed a recruitment plan and is working closely with the city on budget matters to help maintain the program following the grant.
