A graveside service for James B. Worley, 75, of Hartselle was Friday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Pastor Dan Thompson officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Worley died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1951 and attended Anderson Business College for two years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He was in partnership with E&W Upholstery for 32 years, retiring in 1987. He was a lifetime member of Decatur Elks Lodge, VFW and American Legion Post 15. He was preceeded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Clarence Worley Jr.; and a granddaugher, Carrie Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Clyde R. Worley of Hartselle; a son, Jimmy Worley and wife Tina of Decatur; two daughters, Vicki Large of Somerville and Sharon Ray of Huntsville; a sister, Laura J. Blevins and husband Bill of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Ruth L. Sims Worley of Decatur; and three grandchildren, Alex Worley, Heather Worley and Courtney M. Large.
Pallbearers were Dale Brown, Donnie Ferguson, Mark Hill, Steve Kelso, Tommy Rawls and Cord Rawls.
Honorary pallbearers were Dan Blevins, Carl Collins, Ed Drake, Earl Penn, Bruce Worley, Brent Worley and Earl Worley III.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
