Funeral for Sarah B. Lemmond, 70, of Somerville was Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church with the Revs. Melvin Brown and Don Trosper officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Lemmond died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1937, in Madison County to Joseph Norman Stapler Sr. and Dora Lee Atchley Stapler. She was a member of Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church for 50 years. She loved to cook for her family and loved gardening. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady and Norman Stapler.
She is survived by her husband, Aklin Lemmond of Somerville; a son, Victor Lemmond and wife Velisa of Somerville; a daughter, Sherry Ringgold and husband Jimmy of Somerville; two brothers, John Daniel Stapler and wife Myrtie and Marshall Stapler and wife Mary Jane, both of New Hope; a sister-in-law, Betty Gail Stapler of New Hope and four grandchildren, Chandlin Ringgold of Christiana, Tenn., Lauren McDearmond and husband Brandon of Joppa and Victor Lemmond II and Victoria Lemmond, both of Somerville.
Pallbearers were relatives and friends.
