Comb can help parents battle lice

Dear Mom’s Corner
The easiest way to get rid of lice is with a Robi Comb. These can be purchased at Walgreens for approximately $27. They use two AA batteries and actually shock the lice as they remove them. Use every day for two weeks and a child is clear. After clear, it is safe for prevention and can be used anytime. Persistence is the key to any case of head lice and treatment.

Thank you for sharing! I had never heard of one of these combs. It definitely sounds a whole lot less messy than my way! It is true that persistence is the key. I had one child jokingly suggest that since lice don’t like dirty oily hair they could just never wash their hair and we (parents) would never have to worry about it. Umm, personally I don’t think the child was concerned about the lice or our (parents) inconvenience.
I also had a parent stop me and tell me I might want to mention that you should not use any type of dog or cat shampoo for fleas. It is very dangerous to use those types of products on humans. (That one may fall under: “Here’s your sign.”)
