John Tyler Carroll

A graveside service for John Tyler Carroll, 82, of Roanoke was Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at Cedarwood Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Baccus officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Carroll died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at Traylor Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 12, 1926, to John Emmett and Annie Kate Gay Carroll. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a mail carrier for the U.S Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn C. Adams.
He is survived by a brother, James Emmett Carroll of Kings Mountain, N.C.; and a sister, Cathryn Clark of Roanoke.
