Art, artifacts and antiques coming to downtown

Another citywide trade promotion is being planned for Hartselle next spring under the name of “Art, Artifacts &Antiques. “
The event is being sponsored by the Downtown Merchants Association and is tentatively set for Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7. Giving it a Jump start is a $1,500 grant from the Alabama Mountain Lakes Association (AMLA).
Green said the idea for the springtime event was voiced at a past merchants association meeting and was put in motion when an application was submitted last June for the AMLA grant, the winners of which were announced at ALMA’s annual meeting in Guntersville recently.
When association members learned of the $1,500 grant at a recent meeting, they voted unanimously to sponsor the project.
Green said a steering committee is being organized and anyone who is willing to help as a volunteer is invited to contact him at 36 &Main.
