Funeral for William A. “Bill” Mullins, 73, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today) Oct. 2, at 2:30 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. David Gamble and Bert Bunner officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Mullins died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 22, 1935, in Coosa County to Henry Loyd Mullins and Mattie Dark Mullins. He was an active member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church and a wonderful craftsman. He served in the Alabama National Guard for 42 years and retired after 39 years of full-time service with the rank of chief warrant officer attached to the 1169th Engineering Group in Huntsville.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Mullins of Hartselle; a son, Gregory Mullins of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Kaye Cochran and husband John of Hartselle; a brother, Jasper Mullins of Sylacauga; two grandchildren, Kay Moore and husband Jacob of Hartselle and Johnny Cochran Jr. of Tuscaloosa; and a great-grandson, Connor Moore.
