Falkville woman faces drug charges

A 20-year-old Falkville woman, Amanda Carlene Mehrkins, was arrested and charged with second degree manufacture of a controlled substance on Oct.10 after investigators with the Morgan County Drug Task Force found three “shake-and-bake” meth labs inside the mobile home she rents at 150 Hand Road.
After Mehrkins gave investigators permission to search her residence, they found the meth labs stored in two duffel bags, according to Investigator Shannon Hale. Subsequently, Mehrkins was booked at the Morgan County Jail and released under a $500 bond.
Sheriff’s deputies spotted evidence of a meth lab in a storage shed next to the mobile home on the night before when they answered a disturbance call, Hale said.
