Gas customers get a break on winter heating
By By Clif Knight, Hartselle Enquirer
If you’re a Hartselle Utilities gas customer who is concerned about your winter heating bill going up, you can breathe a sign of relief.
Gas bills should drop about 5 percent for the city’s commercial and residential customers providing demand does not exceed what it was a year ago, according to Bob Sittason, HU’s finance and accounting manager.
Still, with electric rates increasing over 25 percent from the previous heating season, HU is taking steps to help customers implement conservation measures.
Also, energy audit kits are provided through the Tennessee Valley Authority.
