Local man charged with possession

A Hartselle man was charged with driving under the influence and having a controlled substance after his car was stopped in Decatur.
Jerome Lydell Goodwin, 27, of 711 Sloss Street in Hartselle was arrested on Upper River Road at Interstate 65 Oct. 18.
Decatur police stopped Goodwin for allegedly driving erratically. Field sobriety tests were done at the scene. Officers also found a quantity of hydrocodone at the scene and said Goodwin did not have a prescription for the medication.
He was taken to the Morgan County Jail on $3,000 bond.
