A Falkville man is charged with drug trafficking and other charges following what Decatur police describe as a month-long undercover operation.
Gary Wayne Turney, 45, of 323 Bell Springs Road, is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, distribution of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Turney was arrested after an undercover investigation in October conducted by the Morgan County Drug Task Force. Agents said Turney sold methamphetamine to an undercover agent, leading police to deliver a search warrant to his home. Agents found more than a quarter pound of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug sales paraphernalia at the home. They also found more than 40 weapons, handguns, blasting caps and dynamite. Agents with the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Bureau were brought to the scene to remove the weapons.
Turney was taken to Morgan County Jail on $8,500 bond. More charges may be forthcoming, Sheriff’s officials said.
