A graveside service for Mary Rachel Praytor Baker, 83, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Penn and Dr. Ron Wilson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Baker died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, in Adairsville, Ga. She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Hartselle to Simon W. Praytor and Dora Penn Praytor. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle. She was a generous, loving person who was always concerned and caring for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Truman Praytor, two sisters, Lurline Minor Isley and Jean Hartselle.
She is survived by a son, Butch Baker and wife Sally of Carrabelle, Fla.; a daughter, Frances Clark and husband Gary of Cleveland, Tenn.; a sister, Wanda Praytor Harvel of Adairsville, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Chuck Clark, Steve Clark and wife Betsy, Jamie Clark and wife Tracie, Terry Clark, Darin Baker, Fara Baker, and Lisa Augustine and husband Sonny; seven great-grandchildren, Andy Clark, Alex Clark, Arthel Clark, Miller Clark, Saylor Clark, Gracie Clark, Elizabeth Clark, and Daniel Clark; a brother-in-law, Mahlon Hartselle of Florida; a sister-in-law, Barbara Praytor of Moulton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandsons and nephews were pallbearers.
