A Hartselle-based film production company Studio 125 captured first place overall at the Rocket City Film Festival last weekend.
Entered in competition against 16 other submissions was “The Fish Fry,” a segment of the studio’s funny cartoon “The Adventures of Me and Jessie D.”
The film mixes live action and animation with “Kids World Kids” actors from Decatur, Hartselle and Moulton playing roles in the production.
Studio 125 executive producer Scott Stewart and his company received a $100 cash prize and a trophy to commemorate the achievement. Even more significant, according to Stewart, was the exposure the film received and the contacts it will generate with professionals in the filmmaking industry.
The setting for the film is a Louisiana swamp and its focus is on issues of children not fitting in, teamwork and making the right choices. It is rated “G” and will be in local stores soon.
