Virginia ‘Jinnie’ Terry Whitlow

Funeral for Virginia “Jinnie” Terry Whitlow, 68, of Neel was Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. at Austinville Church of Christ with Mark Posey and J.C. Enlow officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery
Mrs. Whitlow died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Aug. 2, 1940, in Monroe, Mich. to Marvin Curtis Terry and Naomi Parker Terry. She was a longtime member of Austinville Church of Christ. She enjoyed her home, flower gardens and supporting her grandchildren in all of their activities. She and her husband enjoyed traveling across the 50 states during their 52 years of marriage. She was instrumental in the establishment of Doyle’s Supply Co., which continues as a family business. She will long be remembered for her compassion and kind heart, especially for underprivileged children. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Sims.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Doyle G. Whitlow of Neel; a son, Jeff Whitlow and wife Connie of Neel; a daughter, Shelia Stewart and husband Jeff of Decatur; a sister, Rita Waters of Moulton; a brother, Marvin Curtis “Buddy” Terry Jr. of Trinity; two grandsons, Logan Whitlow of Neel and Paden Stewart of Decatur; a stepgrandson, Jason Vernon of Decatur; and two granddaughters, Sarah Whitlow of Neel and Chelsey Stewart of Decatur.
Pallbearers were Logan Whitlow, Paden Stewart, Jason Vernon, Ronnie Sims, Johnny Triplet, Wendal Rylant, Jimmy Reeder and Bob Pruitt.
Honorary pallbearers were elders and deacons of Autinville Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or the Austinville Church of Christ Building Fund.
