A memorial service for Lester W. Wainscott, 96, of Falkville was Saturday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Froelich officiating.
Mr. Wainscott died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Falkville Health &Rehab Center. He was born Jan. 5, 1912, in Arkansas to James Quitman Wainscott and Daly Eve Cook Wainscott. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Mildred C. Keith Wainscott, his parents and a grandson.
He is survived by two daughters, Billie Strehl of St. Ann, Mich. and Christine Peterson and husband Richard “Pete” of Falkville; nine grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
