Funeral for Lucille Long Ransom, 76, of Somerville was Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Lewis officiating.
Burial was in Loosier Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Mrs. Ransom died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Parkway Medical Center in Decatur. She was born Dec. 11, 1931, in Lawrence County to Harvey C. Thompson and Madgie Lee Terry Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of Somerville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harvey Thompson, Albert Thompson and Hollis Thompson; and a granddaughter, Kasey Long.
She is survived by six sons, Ray Long and wife Regina, Hillard Long and wife Gale, Andy Long and Jimmy Ransom and wife Kathy, all of Somerville, Rufus Long of Moulton and Randy Long and wife Linda of Reidsville, Ga.; a daughter, Elaine Williamson and husband Jim of D’ibervbille, Miss.; three brothers, Dr. James Thompson of Hoover, Mike Thompson of Montgomery and Larry Thompson of Moulton; three sisters, Rebecca Day of Hillsboro and Dorothy Cross and Juanita Brown, both of Moulton; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Keith Long, Mickey Brown, Stacey Blackwood, Anthony Sparks, Jonathan Cross and Kenny Day.
