Funeral for Allen Lee Russell, 64, of Hartselle, will be Thursday (today), Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Homer Jones and John Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Russell died Mon., Nov. 10, 2008, at University Hospital in Birmingham. He was born Sept. 23, 1944, in Allentown, Penn.
He was a member of Hartselle Holy Church of Christ, a minister and formed and sang with the Sounds of Glory gospel group.
He was retired from the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant and worked as secretary for the Patriot Missile project.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Russell; three sons, Jimmy Ray Self of Hartselle, Wesley Russell of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Todd Russell; a daughter, Missy Vinson of Hartselle; a half-brother, Ted Russell of Penn.; four grandchildren, Haley Vinson, Caleb Vinson, Aaron Chibbra and Jordan Steele.
Pallbearers will be members of the military.
