Woman charged with robbery

A Hartselle woman is charged with robbery in the third degree after police said she attempted to steal items at the Decatur Wal-Mart.
Tammy Hampton, 44, of 1105 Barnett Chapel Road, was taken to the Morgan Council Jail on $2,500 bond after being arrested Nov. 5. Police said Hampton went to the Decatur Wal-Mart Oct. 17 and put several items from the store into her purse and attempted to leave. She was approached by employees and detained and police said she then began to struggle and was able to get away.
She turned herself in Nov. 5.
