Funeral for Kay Prater Adams, 62, of Priceville was Saturday, Nov. 15, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Adams died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at her residence. She was retired from Redstone Arsenal where she worked in management for the Army Defense. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, the Red Hat Ladies and a 1964 graduate of Double Springs High School where she was valedictorian and a cheerleader. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James Prater and John Ed Prater and a sister, Joyce Southerland.
She is survived by a son, Russell Adams of Hartselle; a daughter, Cheryl Baker of Priceville; two brothers, Jimmy Prater of Double Springs and Leonard Prater of Priceville; three sisters, Mavoline Bowen and Ima Jean Bailey, both of Haleyville and Norma Jean McGhee of Rogersville; five grandchildren, Chelsea Haynes, Tyler Cooke, Blake Adams, Madison Baker and Kaleigh Baker.
Pallbearers were Doug Mathis, Brantley Mathis, Dustin Baker, Steve Knight, Tyler Croft and Tyler Cooke.
