Alaina Wiley wins talent contest

Nine-year-old Alaina Wiley of Danville was the junior division winner in a Mid-South Fair Preliminary Contest on Oct. 25 at the Halloween Hoot Festival in Decatur.
She will participate in the Mid-South Fair Finals, which will be held in Tunica, Miss. in September 2009.
Alaina is the daughter of Greg and Cindy Wiley of Danville and the granddaughter of Max and Aline Wiley and Don Miller, all of Hartselle.
She has won many talent contests and has performed all over Alabama and Tennessee. She has opened up for Jeff Whitlow, Robert Montgomery and Blue Persuasion and performed on stage with “Nothing Fancy Bluegrass,” the 2008 Bluegrass Entertainers of the Year.
She has appeared on Jamie Cooper’s “Cooper &Co. as well as the Nashville Spotlight, a cable TV show that features talented young musicians and singers from all over the U.S.
