Funeral for Sue Beal Brannon, 70, of Union Grove was Friday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Whitehead officiating.
Burial was in Etha Cemetery in Cullman County.
Mrs. Brannon died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Cullman County to Dover Howell Veal and Willie Mae Stewart Veal. She was a military service wife who traveled the world while raising seven children. She eventually settled in Union Grove and retired from the State of Alabama. She was an avid reader, enjoyed nature and was a true Christian. Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She would open her door to anyone in need and had a very generous heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Joey Brannon; three brothers, Chesley, Bobby and George Veal; and a sister, Carolyn Veal.
She is survived by five sons, Ricky Brannon and wife Aimee of Union Grove; Donnie Brannon of Cullman, Gary Brannon and Greg Brannon and wife Lisa, all of Hartselle, and Tony Brannon of Somerville; two daughters, Cathey Brannon and husband Sonny of Cookeville, Tenn. and Patricia Beaty and husband Danny of Trinity; three brothers, Eugene Veal and wife Betty of Baileyton, Kenneth Veal and wife Robbie of Massey and David Veal and wife Karol of Cold Springs; four sisters, Mary Brannon of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Melba Nelson and husband Steve and Linda Holmes and husband Carl, both of Hartselle, and Frances Jones of Decatur; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Sons and grandsons will be pallbearers.
