Funeral services for Acklin Ray Evans, 76, of Lacey’s Spring, was Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 1:00 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Herbert Smith and Leon Holt officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Acklin died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Huntsville Hospial. He was born January 30, 1932, in Morgan County to Jim Joseph Evans and Clara Lee Speegle Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Evans of Lacey’s Spring; a son, Chris Evans of Lacey’s Spring; a daughter, Jane Chapman of Athens; five sisters, Ruth Evans of Greenville, S.C., Elizabeth Wiley of Huntsville, Margaret Vidiarri of Leesburg, Fla, Ruby Nell Gettis of Ft. Mills, S.C. and Martha Lee Dolly of Pace, Fla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were be Mike Dupree, John Wiley, Lance Chapman, Bryant Evans, Tyler Evans and Larry Blankenship.
