Funeral for Emma Frances Laney, 94, of Falkville was Monday, Dec. 8, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Andrews officiating,
Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Laney died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Savannah Hospice House. She was born July 30, 1914, in Morgan County to Frank Wood Fitzgerald and Birdie Almon Fitzgerald. She was a member of Cedar Plains Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael Ray Laney; and a daughter, Cornelia Anne Laney,
She is survived by a son, Joe Ray Laney of Texas; two daughters, Dean Couch of Birmingham and Cheri Wilson of Richmond Hills, Ga.; a brother, Patrick Dale Fitzgerald of Mississippi; three sisters, Birdie Ferrell of Georgia, Janie Mae Holmes of Falkville and Leah Oakley of Decatur; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Family members and friends were pallbearers.
