Funeral for Arthur O. Smallwood, 86, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating.
Burial was in New Hope North Cemetery.
Mr. Smallwood died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at his residence. He was born May 24, 1922, in Morgan County to Paul Smallwood and Lillie Mae Smith Smallwood. He was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ and enjoyed carpentry work. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Pat Lindsey and Brenda Cryer.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Smallwood of Hartselle; five sons, Jerry Smallwood of Hartselle, Scotty Smallwood of Decatur and Harlan Smith, J.R. Smith and Willard Smith, all of Falkville; two daughters, Maxine Martin of Decatur and Becky Stringer of Hartselle; a sister, Bertha Head of Decatur; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family members and friends were pallbearers.
