Sloan, Coyne to wed
Steve and Cheryl Sloan of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Corie Laine Sloan, to Patrick Alan Coyne, son of Richard and Kathy Coyne of Trussville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Dorothy Gill of Jonesboro, Ark., the late Robert Dean Gill, the late Vernon Sloan and the late Ruth Sloan of Glenwood, Ark.
A 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School, she received her bachelor of science degree in 2004 with a double major in finance and mathematics. She is employed as assistant vice president in Credit Risk Management at Compass Bank in Birmingham.
The future groom is the grandson of John and Mary Coyne of Springville, Frances Eddy of Brilliant and the late Berlin Eddy.
A 1997 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School, he received his bachelor of science in marketing from the University of Alabama. He is an account executive for sports radio stations WJOX FM and WSPZ AM in Birmingham.
The wedding is planned for April 11, 2009, at the Tutwiler Hotel in Birmingham.
Halbrooks, Riley to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Halbrooks of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Robin Diane Halbrooks, to Tony Joe Riley Jr, son of Tony and Pam Riley of Decatur.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Viola Nave of Hartselle and Milard Nelson of Decatur and the late Hoyet and Betty Halbrooks of Hartselle. She is a graduate of Hartselle High School and a graduate of the University of West Alabama where she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2007 and a masters degree in 2008. She is employed by Hartselle City Schools at Hartselle Junior High School and is a Hartselle High softball coach.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Riley of Somerville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hall of Decatur.
He is a graduate of Austin High School and is employed at Blue Bell Creameries.
The wedding is planned for Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hartselle.
