Fred ‘Chubby’ Hatfield

Funeral for Fred “Chubby” Hatfield, 62, of Somerville was Monday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Buddy Brown and John Walker officiating.
Burial was in New Friendship Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hatfield died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 18, 1946, in Morgan County to Estel Hatfield and Essie McMillen Hatfield. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Somerville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Malinda Barrett Hatfield of Somerville; a son, Richard Keith Hatfield of Somerville; a stepson, Michael Leopard and wife, Marichu of Athens; six brothers, Robert Hatfield, Marvin West, Jerry West, Jimmy West and Avery West, all of Somerville; and Raymond Hatfield of Priceville; three sisters, Nancy Kent and Kathryn Smith, both of Somerville, and Evelyn Patterson of Priceville; five grandchildren, Cody Hatfield, Hanna Hatfield, Greg King, Casey Fillenwart and Mackyla Leopard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Somerville United Methodist Church.
