CR Compressors employees provide gifts for V of A clients

Christmas will be a happy holiday for some 25 clients of Volunteers of America thanks to the generosity of CR Compressors (Copeland) employees.
For the fourth year in a row, the company’s employees and their families have added V of A clients to their Christmas gift lists.
The Christmas project begins with each client making a list of his or her needs and wants for Christmas. These lists are placed on a decorated tree in the company’s break area as Christmas angels prior to Thanksgiving holiday. Employees respond by choosing a client’s wish list and going out and purchasing the gifts requested. The gifts are then assembled and transported to the V of A center for distribution to the recipients. The gifts are carried home and opened on Christmas Day.
This year, the clients shared in a Christmas party and picked up their gifts Dec. 18. At the same time, they had the opportunity to visit with Santa.
“We’re so thankful to CR Compressors’ for what they do,” said Donna Maze, V of A director. “Our clients look forward to the Christmas party with a lot of anticipation and excitement. This is their Christmas.”
