Funeral for Eldridge Daniel Blackwood, 74, of Hartselle was Monday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lynn Harvel, Bro. Brad Roath and Dr. Jerry Burns officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Blackwood died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 3, 1934, in Cullman to Wess and Virgie Rodgers Blackwood.
He was retired from Copeland Corp. and was a deacon of Walnut Grove Baptist Church for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Gresham; and five brothers, Ollie, James, Homer, David and Chester Blackwood.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jackie Brown Blackwood of Hartselle; a daughter, Shelia Harvel and husband Lynn of Hartselle; two sons, Timothy Blackwood and wife Cindy and Terry Blackwood, both of Hartselle; and two grandchildren, Steven Harvel and Julie Blackwood.
Pallbearers were Jeff Burns, Anthony Burns, Randy Long, Ronnie Blackwood and Ricky Blackwood.
