Funeral for Gertrude Walker Bodley, 94, of Hartselle was Saturday, Dec. 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Bodley died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born March 31, 1914, in Lawrence County to Robert Archie Walker and Alice Virginia “Jenny” Legg Walker. She was an avid supporter of the Friendship Cemetery Association, convention style gospel singing and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Bodley; a brother, R.V. Walker and a sister, Lois Mae White.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Bodley Holladay and husband Paul; a granddaughter, Renee Holladay Fields and husband Jack of Danville; a great-grandson, Jason Stanley Fields of Danville and a brother, Newell Walker of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Allen Walker, Bobby Bodley, Billy Bodley and Truman Pitman, Jason Fields, Carl White, Con White and Blake Tanner.
