Hartselle sweeps Priceville

Hartselle head coach Gary Orr had been looking for the same type of performance that the Lady Tigers got two weeks earlier in a win over Muscle Shoals on the road.
Friday night, four games later, the Lady Tigers showed signs of that style of play in a 55-33 victory over a sluggish Priceville team.
Hartselle scored more than half of its points in the win off Priceville turnovers. But more importantly, Hartselle limited its own turnovers to just 17 to improve to 6-7 overall.
Alex Holmes nearly missed a triple-double in the win after scoring a game-high 19 points with 13 rebounds. She finished with eight assists.
Priceville dropped to 8-8 with the loss after struggling against Hartselle's defense. The Lady Bulldogs shot just 25 percent from the field in the game.
Priceville, who is 3-0 in area games, seemed out of sync against its county rivals. The Lady Bulldogs trailed just 25-21 at the half, but Hartselle went on a 20-6 run in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers added to the margin, eventually building up a 55-33 advantage – Hartselle's largest lead of the game.
Taylor White added 11 points for the Lady Tigers with a pair of 3-pointers. Katie Young finished with 10 points after hitting four of her eight attempts from the field.
Priceville didn't have anyone reach double figures in the loss. Presley Darling scored eight points and added 10 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs. Amber Smith and Chanel McClendon finished with six points each for Priceville.
Hartselle 71, Priceville 52
Hartselle picked up its ninth win of the season Friday night at home with a 71-52 victory over Priceville.
The Tigers scored 29 points off Priceville turnovers in the win to improve to 9-4 overall.
Sam Fleischman led all scorers with 28 points after hitting 12 of 19 shots from the field in the win. He also had eight rebounds and two blocked shots for the Tigers.
Rodney Stansberry added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Zach Orr scored 11 points.
Hartselle opened up an 18-11 lead over the Bulldogs and never trailed after the early minutes of the game on the way to the win. The Tigers hit 7-of-16 of their 3-point shots with Orr and Fleischman hitting three each.
Priceville got nine points from JaColby Reid, while Kody Smith, Brock Boyd and Tyler Croft chipped in with eight points each for the Bulldogs.
