Funeral for Lois Inez Nicholson Parker, 78, of Hartselle was Monday Dec. 22, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wendell Callahan officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Morgan County to Albert and Ida Nicholson. She worked for many years at Pineview Hospital and Charter Retreat. She loved her family, cooking and helping people in need. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Parker; her parents and two brothers, Lloyd and Lewis Nicholson.
She is survived by three sons, Donald Parker of Somerville; Allen Vest and wife Felicia of Hartselle and Bobby Vest of Decatur; two daughters, Freida Layton and husband Don of Hartselle and Linda Herndon of Decatur; a sister, Sue Roden of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.
