FLORETTE - Brewer turned up the defensive intensity Monday night to beat rival Hartselle 59-51 in the third place game of the Big Blue Classic at Brewer High School.
The Patriots broke open a close game with a strong run in the second half to beat the Tigers in the first of three meetings between the two schools in the next two weeks.
